Follow The Directions

01

Step

Stud the lemon slice: Press cloves into the lemon peel around the entire slice. Set aside. (2 minutes)

02

Step

Prepare the glass: Add sugar to a heat-resistant glass. Place a metal spoon inside, curved side up. (1 minute)

03

Step

Combine and dissolve: Carefully pour boiling water over the back of the spoon to prevent shattering. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. (3 minutes)

04

Step

Infuse the flavors: Add the Irish whiskey and the clove-studded lemon slice to the glass. (1 minute)

05

Step

Steep and savor: Allow the mixture to steep for about 1 minute before enjoying. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully. (1 minute)

For a richer flavor, use brown sugar instead of white.
If you don't have a heat-resistant glass, pre-warm your glass with hot tap water before adding the boiling water.
Adjust the amount of whiskey to your preference, but remember this is a potent drink!
Experiment with a dash of Angostura bitters for added complexity.
