Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, chopped onion, crushed crackers, milk, shredded Cheddar cheese, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoned salt until just mixed. Be careful not to overmix. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared baking sheet. Mold the meatloaf into a skull shape, creating hollows for the eye sockets and mouth. Place the hard-boiled egg halves into the eye sockets, pressing them gently into the meat. (10 minutes)

04

Step

In a separate bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and barbecue sauce until smooth. Spread half of this sauce mixture evenly over the meatloaf skull, being sure to coat the eyes and mouth as well. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and no longer pink in the center. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should register at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C). (60 minutes)

06

Step

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. While it rests, insert the garlic slices into the mouth opening to create 'teeth'. Brush the remaining sauce over the meatloaf or serve it on the side. (15 minutes)

For a smokier flavor, use smoked paprika in the meatloaf mixture.
Add a touch of heat with a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
Get creative with the 'eye' garnish. Sliced olives or mozzarella balls work well too!
Ensure the cracker crumbs are fine to bind the meatloaf effectively.
