For a richer flavor, try using tuna packed in olive oil. Drain well before using. Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese. Cheddar or Gruyere would also be delicious. If you prefer a softer potato chip topping, add the final layer of chips about halfway through the baking time. To prevent the potato chips from burning, you can tent the casserole with foil during the last 10 minutes of baking. This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 24 hours. Add a few minutes to the baking time if baking from cold.
