For extra flaky biscuits, use very cold ingredients. You can even chill the flour mixture before adding the wet ingredients. Don't overmix the dough! Overmixing develops the gluten, resulting in tough biscuits. For a golden-brown top, brush the biscuits with melted butter or milk before baking. Serve warm with butter, jam, or honey.
