Follow The Directions

01

Step

Gather all ingredients and have them prepared and within reach. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Preheat a 5-quart air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) according to the manufacturer's instructions. This ensures even cooking and crispy rice. (5 minutes)

03

Step

In a large bowl, gently combine the cooked rice, sesame oil, water, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper. Be careful not to break the rice grains. Transfer the mixture to a 7-inch round metal cake pan or an air fryer-safe insert. This will keep the rice contained and prevent it from falling through the air fryer basket. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Carefully place the pan into the preheated air fryer basket. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through to promote even crisping. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Pour the beaten egg evenly over the rice and continue to air-fry until the egg is set, about 4 minutes. The egg will add richness and bind the rice together. (4 minutes)

06

Step

Add the thawed peas and carrots (or your chosen vegetables) to the air fryer. Stir gently to combine and break up the egg. Air-fry for 2 more minutes to heat the vegetables through. (2 minutes)

07

Step

While the rice is air-frying, whisk together the soy sauce and Sriracha sauce in a small bowl. Set aside for serving. Adjust the amount of Sriracha to your spice preference. (2 minutes)

08

Step

Divide the fried rice between two serving bowls and drizzle the prepared sauce over the top. Serve immediately and enjoy!

For best results, use day-old cooked rice. It's drier and will crisp up better in the air fryer.
Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket. If necessary, cook the rice in batches to ensure even cooking.
Feel free to customize this recipe with your favorite additions. Diced ham, shrimp, chicken, or tofu would all be excellent choices.
If you don't have an air fryer insert, you can use a piece of parchment paper to line the air fryer basket. Be sure to weigh it down with the rice mixture to prevent it from blowing around.
Adjust the amount of soy sauce and Sriracha to your personal preference. A little goes a long way!
Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for added flavor and visual appeal.
